WHO WAS THERE: John Chong, Miles Nakashima, Ken Chun, Howard Yoshiura, Clay Ching, Dayton Auyong, Vernon Kajikawa, Walter Fong, Dennis Sugihara, Ricky AuHoy
WHAT HAPPENED:
Tiger Woods, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and all the other great golfers who ever lived, would have been no match for the ten members of the Class of 63 who played at the Barber’s Point Golf Course on Wednesday! Not!
We started the day by meeting for breakfast at Shiro’s in Waimalu. Fuel for the coming golf round was provided by eggs over easy, lunch meat, Spam, fried rice, wun tun min, and pancakes!! Sorry, no pictures of the food.
Walter Fong of the Reunion Committee was in charge of the golf event and got everyone organized into three groups: Clayton Ching, Dennis Sugihara, Miles Nakashima & Dayton Auyong in the first group; Walter Fong, Ken “Bongo” Chun & Vernon Kajikawa in the second group; John Chong, Howard Yoshiura & Ricky AuHoy in the third group.
Approximately three hours later, after much laughter and a little stronger language in some groups, we finished up at the 18th hole. As you can see from the pictures below, we had a great time.
Comments from our viral audience:
* Do you guys eat wun tun for breakfast these days? What a great idea. You can't get decent wun tun here, and no one has heard of gau gee. (Dr Kaori O'Connor)
